ファティマ第三の預言とは何だったのか──戦争と沈黙、そしてバチカンの謎
ルシアの前に最初に天使が現れた1916年当時のポルトガルは、
すでにドイツへ宣戦布告した直後であり、
国全体が第一次世界大戦の渦中にあった。
そのような不安定な時代背景を考えると、
翌1917年に現れた聖母マリアの最初のメッセージは、
「この戦争はいずれ終わる」という予言によって、
ポルトガル国民を安心させることが目的だったのかもしれない。
第二の預言──世界に向けられた警告
続く第二の預言は、
ポルトガル一国にとどまらず、全世界に向けられたものだった。
それは後に第二次世界大戦の勃発として現実となる。
この預言には、
神の意志に背いたとき、世界は破滅へ向かう
という強い警告の意味が込められていたと解釈されている。
そして残念ながら、
歴史はその警告が現実となったことを示している。
問題の第三の預言──なぜ隠されたのか
そして、最も謎に包まれているのが
**「第三の預言」**である。
この預言には、
「1960年までは公表を控えよ」
という異例の指示が付されていたとされる。
事実として、
ルシア自身がこの内容を公表することは許されず、
発表の権限はバチカン教皇庁に委ねられた。
しかし、預言は1960年になっても公表されなかった。
最終的に内容が公開されたのは、
それからさらに40年後の2000年である。
しかもその公表の仕方は、
多くの人々にとって消極的で、渋々のようにも映った。

第三の預言の一部を漏らしていたとされる証言が複数存在することだ。

バチカンが公式に発表した第三の預言の内容に、
疑問を抱く人がいるのは決して不自然ではない。
もちろん、
カトリックの修道女となっていたルシアが、
教皇庁の方針に逆らえなかったであろうことは理解できる。
だが同時に、
もし彼女が自らの死後に公表される手紙を残していたら――
そう考えずにはいられない。
もっとも、それが残された親族に
不利益をもたらす可能性があったことも、
容易に想像できる。
ルシアが極めて困難な立場に置かれていたことは、
疑いようがない。
なぜバチカンは真実を隠すのか
こうして私の関心は、
次第に一つの疑問へと収束していく。
「なぜ、バチカン教皇庁は真実を隠すのか？」
それは信仰のためなのか。
それとも、世界秩序への配慮なのか。
あるいは、語れない理由が存在するのか。
この問いこそが、
ファティマ第三の預言を考える上で、
避けて通れない核心なのではないだろうか。
The Third Prophecy of Fatima: War, Silence, and the Vatican’s Secret
When the angel first appeared to Lucia in 1916,
Portugal was already in the midst of war.
The country had just declared war on Germany and was deeply involved in World War I.
Seen in this historical context, the initial message attributed to the Virgin Mary in 1917 may have served, at least in part, to reassure the Portuguese people that the war would eventually come to an end.
The Second Prophecy: A Warning to the World
The second prophecy associated with Fatima went beyond Portugal
and was directed toward the entire world.
It is commonly interpreted as foretelling the outbreak of World War II.
This prophecy carried a strong warning:
that if humanity failed to follow the will of God,
the consequences would be global and catastrophic.
History, regrettably, appears to have confirmed this warning.
The Third Prophecy: Why Was It Hidden?
The most controversial and mysterious element of the Fatima revelations is the Third Prophecy, often referred to as the Third Secret of Fatima.
According to widely reported accounts, this prophecy came with a specific instruction:
that it should not be made public until 1960.
Yet Lucia herself was never permitted to announce its contents directly.
Authority over its release was placed entirely in the hands of the Vatican.
Even more puzzling, the prophecy was not disclosed in 1960.
Instead, it was only partially revealed decades later, in the year 2000—
and even then, the manner of its publication appeared hesitant and reluctant to many observers.
Was the Full Truth Ever Revealed?
Further doubt arises from claims that Lucia, before her death,
shared fragments of the Third Prophecy with researchers and journalists.
When these testimonies are considered alongside the official Vatican statement,
it becomes difficult for some to accept that the complete truth was fully disclosed.
Of course, it is understandable that Lucia—having become a Catholic nun—
was bound to follow the directives of the Holy See.
Still, one cannot help but wonder
whether she might have left a letter to be revealed after her death.
At the same time, it is equally possible that doing so
could have placed a heavy burden on her surviving family.
Lucia’s position was, by any measure, extraordinarily difficult.
The Central Question Remains
Ultimately, my attention is drawn to a single, persistent question:
Why would the Vatican choose to conceal the truth?
Was it done to protect the faithful?
To preserve global stability?
Or because the contents were simply too dangerous—or too disruptive—to release?
This question lies at the very heart of the mystery surrounding
the Third Prophecy of Fatima.
